Abstract Background To investigate the microbiologic spectrum of dacryocystitis in adult and pediatric groups, specifically differences between chronic with nasolacrimal duct obstruction (NLDO) acute group. Methods This retrospective study was reviewed for demographic profile dacryocystitis. The culture results were reported. Results Sixty-four adults one hundred five pediatrics included this study. Of all adults, only NLDO observed. patients, 89 had 16 Gram positive negative isolates numerically equal group (both 36(48.65%)), while gram major organism (71(58.68%)). Streptococcus pneumonia most common isolate both (11(14.86%)) (30(24.79%)) For subgroups, (59(57.84%) 12 (63.16%) dacryocystitis).
